Interview With Author Eva Mylle
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am Eva Mylle, a French writer and musician born on April 28, 1999. I have written one book, my debut poetry collection called Nocturnal Laments: A Modern Gothic Poetry Collection.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“Nocturnal Laments” is my latest book, and it was inspired by the Gothic Romanticism tradition. I wanted to explore the depths of the human soul and the hidden fears and desires that we all have. I drew inspiration from moonlit landscapes, mysterious castles, and eerie graveyards to transport my readers to a world of darkness and beauty.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I do have an unusual writing habit – I drink a lot of coffee while writing. It helps me focus and stay alert.
4. The poetry of Edgar Allan Poe has been a significant influence on me. I admire the way he combines darkness and beauty, and his work has served as a foundation for my own writing.
5. Currently, I am working on promoting Nocturnal Laments and sharing my work with readers all over the world.
6. As a new author, I have found that social media is an effective tool for promoting my book. Platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok allow me to connect with readers and share information about my work.
7. My advice for new authors would be to write from the heart and be persistent. Writing is a challenging but rewarding process. Developing your skills and finding your voice takes time. Don’t give up; always be true to yourself and your vision.
8. The best advice I have ever heard is to never stop learning. There is always room for improvement; by constantly striving to learn and grow, we can achieve great things.
9. I am currently reading “The Secret History”, a novel by Donna Tartt. It’s a fascinating and gripping story that keeps me engaged from beginning to end.
10. As a writer, I am always looking for new ways to explore the human experience and delve into the depths of the human soul. I hope to continue writing and sharing my work with readers all over the world.
11. If I were stranded on a desert island, I would bring “Crime and Punishment”, “The Picture of Dorian Gray”, “Dracula”, and the entire “Sherlock Holmes” collection. These books are timeless classics that I could read over and over again, and they would provide me with hours of entertainment and intellectual stimulation.
