Interview With Author Eva Tillman
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I published my first work in 2023. However, I have enjoyed writing since I was a teenager. I lived in several regions of the United States before I finally settled in the West with its palm trees and almost constant sunshine. I love to read, eat, and help others feel good about themselves.
Many people, including me, have faced trauma of different types. Unfortunately, the hands of time cannot be turned back. But it is possible to live a happy and successful life, contentedly coping with the slowly dissipating effects of the trauma.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
In my first and most personal work, “Dear Mom” (A letter I will never send, to a mother who who would never read it anyway), I do my best to write as if I am writing to the inspiration for the book, my narcissistic mother. Perhaps one day I will deliver the book to its rightful recipient. For now, I enjoy the liberation of having poured out my true feelings.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think it’s possible to have unusual writing habits. Writing is freedom.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Shakespeare. He did not seem to allow himself to be confined by time or subject. He simply wrote.
What are you working on now?
I am waiting for “Dear Mom” to be released, to find out if other people can relate to my experiences.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Instagram is user friendly and it is easy to find your target audience as well as other habits you didn’t know you had!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write, write, write, without editing. Edit later, after you have fully expressed yourself.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Take one day at a time.
What are you reading now?
King Lear by Shakespeare and I love it.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Possibly, a book of prose
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Body Keeps The Score
Julius Caesar
Will I Ever Be Good Enough (Healing Daughters of Narcissistic Mothers)
