As a passionate voice educator and vocal athlete, Suzanne's journey in music and education is deeply layered, anchored by bachelor's and master's degrees in Vocal Performance and a commitment to Contemporary Vocal Pedagogy, Vocology, and Body Mapping Education for musicians. Her teaching is rooted in evidence-based disciplines, enabling her students to understand the mind-body connection in performance, thereby enhancing their expressiveness and technical abilities.
Suzanne's musical skills extend beyond her vocal talents to include the piano, organ, flute, choral conducting, and musical director for some local productions, enriching her teaching with a broad perspective. This versatility allows her to instill in her students a deep appreciation for instrumentalists and production crews, emphasizing their essential role alongside vocal athletes. Her passion for exploring world cultures, cuisines, and family genealogy further enriches her teaching philosophy, highlighting the interconnectedness of our stories and reinforcing her belief in music as a universal language that bridges cultures and fosters empathy.
Suzanne's personal narrative is beautifully complemented by her family's experience hosting three exchange students from Brazil and Japan in the late 1990s, who have since become beloved members of her family.
