Eyes of Fire by Oliver Eade
Young love, ancient beliefs and a world in peril… Texan teen, Adam, falls for a beautiful yet mysterious Mexican classmate, María. Neither know where the ancient Aztec gold bracelet that she gives him will lead them, and no one, including María, knows who she really is. In a terrifying journey across North America, spanning different cultures, past and present, also involving Adam’s clairvoyant young sister, Chloe, and her African American love interest, Lee, why they must seek out an ancient Anasazi girl in the Mayan underworld, Xibalba, defying the Death Lords and the evil Anasazi warrior, Coyote Spirit, becomes apparent towards the end of this three-part novel in which Native American beliefs conflict and merge with those of White Man of European origin. And can young love really save the planet?

Author Bio:
Oliver is an award-winning playwright and writer of adult, young adult and young readers’ fiction who worked as a hospital doctor in England and Vermont, USA, before ending up in Scotland where he now lives with his Chinese wife. With family and granddaughters in Texas, and in Switzerland, he has always been taken with the Native American belief that Man belongs to the land, and not the other way around—something he addresses in ‘Eyes of Fire’. Although not confined to any particular genre, Oliver feels most comfortable in that space between reality and fantasy; a place where children can lose themselves in their play and the place of myths and legends and of deeply-held beliefs across the world. For him, writing is not just about telling a story but also about trying to better understand this mysterious existence we call ‘life’. A lover of music who met his wife when, as teenagers, they played piano duets together, he is also a passionate and prize-winning amateur photographer. ‘Eyes of Fire’ is featured on Shepherd.com ‘best books’ website for October 2022.
