Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Dr Ekpo Ezechinyere is a medical doctor, who graduated from the University of Ibadan. After practising for many years, he became the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of one of the Health Maintenance Organisations (HMO) in Nigeria.
These days, Dr Ezechinyere empowers people, mostly younger folks, to live inspired through his blog-site www.drekpo.com and other social media platforms.
Using the instrumentality of stories and creative writing, he brings the bible into high definition reality by emulating how Jesus used parables to drive home enduring truths.
A creative consultant, trainer and coach, he consulted for www.theiibc.com and managed their inspirational series.
Dr Ekpo co-wrote Strain (www.strainthemovie.com) which recently won the Urban Film Festival, Best International Movie of 2020 in Miami, Florida. The movie was also nominated by the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival 2020 for Best Nollywood Drama, Best African Film, and Best International Film. The Festival International De Cinema De Kinshasa gave it a nomination too.
He has learnt a lot all these years, is still voraciously learning and has several other books in the pipeline. Ernest Hemingway said, “We are all apprentices in a craft where no one ever becomes a master.”
Dr Ekpo is a coach, trainer, bookworm, an avid follower of Football and WWE, a video game buff, a foodie, an amala enthusiast, a Marvel and DC devotee, and he lives continually in an ocean of inspiring music.
Crazy Fact: His dream as a young boy was to become a WWE wrestler.
He is married to Dr Lilian Ekpo and has two sons, Othniel-Ryan and Zane-Jordan.
He has only written one book: A Guide to Christian Writing: How to Become A Christian Writer/Author.
