Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
In my early years, I did stand-up comedy and almost became a magician. My fun-loving teaching style I think is entertaining as well as educational. Oh, how I love to laugh, hear and tell jokes, dance, and practice being thankful every day. I can do the best “Tarzan-Jane” call you’ve ever heard! This is my 1st book and I have 4 more on the way!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
BLOCKBUSTER BRANDING For “The Little Guy” is the name of my book.
For years I helped people for free with their branding. That is, until I met a psychologist, Dr. Kursheed Sethna, that had watched, as I freely helped fellow attendee’s at a Jack Canfield seminar. I had become a celebrity at the seminar. I even had women following me into the bathroom asking me for advice regarding their businesses.
Kursheed invited me to dinner that evening. At dinner she said, “you’re wasting thousands of dollars giving away your ideas for free!” She continued, “start a business and get paid for them.” I knew she was right. That’s when I started writing my newly released book.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I am a Crazy Note taker! I have small spiral bound notepads and ink pens everywhere: in my purse, on my nightstand by my bed, on the end table by recliner in the living room, and in my SUV and in all my pad-folios. Whenever I get an idea, I write it down, so I can allow other ideas to enter. At the top of each note I designate what that note pertains to: website, Branding Book, Tips Book, Promotion, Twitter, Future Plans, etc. I also am CRAZY about Sticky Notes! i put them all over the walls at my computer. I never lose a great idea, and my mind is free for more to enter!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
One of my hero’s is Hal Elrod writer of the Miracle Morning book series. I needed a simple morning routine and his book provided exactly what I needed. I also love the book, One Simple Idea by Stephen Key. I learned about licensing, which I’m going to be using his information in the next couple of months to license some designs I’ve created.
What are you working on now?
Right now, I’m working on promoting BLOCKBUSTER BRANDING, after the promotions, I’ll be putting it out in print with an audio book to follow. My next book will be, How to Write a BLOCKBUSTER Tips Book, subtitle, The Fast & Easy Way using Multiple Revenue Streams For Richer Results!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Honestly, I’m completely knew to promoting books, and I haven’t got enough data to endorse a particular source. I will tell you, Awesomegang is the ONLY promotional site of the 40+ sites I’ve used to promote my recent book, that has the option of providing an Author’s Interview! Especially as a new author, Awesomegang I think truly cares about the Author, not just book promotion. And I deeply appreciate that!!!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
While writing my book I experienced, problems, set backs, wasted money, wasted time, mistakes, frustration, etc. I dedicate a whole chapter in my book to this topic. Know that what you experience is part of the process, of becoming an author. If it was easy, everyone would be an author! Be loving and kind to yourself through the process, you are the most important person you will ever know. The mantra I used, I invite you to use too: I will find a way!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Believe in Yourself!
What are you reading now?
