Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m not a writer by profession. I work full-time as a business analyst, but enjoy doing photography and writing on the side. I’ve posted articles on LinkedIn and Autoblog, but I finally decided that I wanted to write a book. So I did.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My book is titled ‘Open the Door to a Wealthier Life’. It is somewhat of a niche book since it’s primarily targeted to Muslim readers, but really this book can be beneficial to anyone. I provide tips about money management, how to learn and build skills for little to no money, how investing works and how to get started, the purpose of investing, the differences between investment choices, how to prepare for retirement, etc.
What are you working on now?
I’m considering writing a book about tiger conservation. If I go ahead with this, it would be a non-scientific approach. I’d simply be writing from a wildlife enthusiast point-of-view, and hopefully raise awareness about the risk of extinction that the wild tiger faces.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
First, narrow down what you want to share with the world, and determine who your target audience is. Then form an outline for the book. Next, just write and let the ideas flow. Don’t worry about length; think quality over quantity.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Success is the best revenge.
What are you reading now?
Currently I am reading ‘Tiger’ by Stephen Mills.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I hope to actually get some sales with my initial book. This was my first time writing a book, and it’s independently published via CreateSpace, so I’m not yet sure how much exposure I’ll be able to get. If I do get some sales, it would certainly encourage me to keep writing.
