Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a traditionally published author of 7 historical romance eBooks. I live in a remote town in North Queensland, Australia with my husband. I am the mother of 5 children aged 4 to 12, and the stepmother of 4 children aged 13 to 19.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest title is Deceit & Devotion. The story is set around the owner of a cattle station who finds herself in a forbidden affair with a half-caste aboriginal man. The story came about whilst having a conversation with my husband over a glass of wine over some of the scandalous tales of families from our hometown.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I hum odd tunes from children’s shows when I’m stuck on a part of the story that needs fixing.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
As an author Amanda Quick has greatly influenced my style of writing. Love her ability to intertwine romance and mystery.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on a story of an Australian slave trader who ends up falling in love with and Irish slave. Also several books into a 7 book series about the sins of our past.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I find any social media a great help as it reaches so many places. Guest spots and interviews on blogs also helps reach an audience that otherwise might be unobtainable.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write with your heart and try not to get discouraged.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
To just keep writing. You can always fix bad writing, but you can do nothing with a blank page.
What are you reading now?
Currently in the middle of edits so reading is on hold.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I have a new release out in May 2017 titled Amorous Redemption. Story tells of a bounty hunter who is sent to find a runaway bride, but ends up discovering they have far more in common then the bed they shared.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
To Kill a Mockingbird and Amanda Quick novels.
