Miller is a graduate of Cornell University and East Tennessee State University. She lives in Johnson City, Tennessee with her husband and dog Lucky, a Jack Russell mix. The couple has one son in college.

Mary Ellen Miller, APR is a results-driven public relations and marketing strategist with over 30 years of experience. She has led award-winning community relations programs, developed strategic communications plans and managed crisis communications for a variety of clients. One of Miller's most notable accomplishments was leading the community relations program for the seven-year $400-million Boone Dam infrastructure project in Northeast Tennessee.
