About From Stars To Consciousness: An Objective View Of Human Life Experience by Pierre Brosens
How did we get here? How did matter become life—and life become conscious?
In From Stars to Consciousness: An Objective View of Human Life Experience, Pierre Brosens traces the story of existence from the birth of the universe to the rise of human thought. With clarity and scientific precision, Brosens connects the dots across astronomy, physics, chemistry, biology, and neuroscience to give readers a unified view of the unfolding history of life and the brain with which they function—and, perhaps, help them find answers to their fundamental questions about existence.
Readers will discover:
• How stars forged the elements that make up every living thing
• The origins of Earth and the earliest forms of life
• How complex biological systems gave rise to cognition and emotion
Perfect for fans of Astrophysics for People in a Hurry by Neil deGrasse Tyson, The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins, and The Feeling of What Happens by Antonio Damasio—this is a guided exploration of the universe’s greatest mystery: us.
