Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an indie author of Romantic Suspense stories for adults with strong heroines and alphas ready to sacrifice everything for their women.
Although born in Lithuania, I have been traveling the world for most of my life, and five years ago settled in the small French village in the middle of vineyards together with my husband from Greenland. This is where my first book was born and was soon followed by others.
As of now, I have at least 7 WIPs, but I only published my first one “Imperfect Forgery” in June 2019. The second book is divided into 2 parts – a prequel “Burning Frost” and a second chance romantic suspense story “Frozen Ashes” which can also be read on its own.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest one is actually a Holiday novella “Accidentally Us” which was as accidental as its title suggests. What inspired it? I wanted to write a Holiday story for a while now, but my problem is that every single time I decide to keep the story short, it ends up being a full-length novel. So, this was a challenge for me – to tell a story in 20K words. And from the feedback I received, it seems I succeeded to make it steamy, funny, and emotional at the same time.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think my habits are different from others. But I prefer writing on the couch or in bed, instead of sitting at the table. And I forget to eat whenever I write. And the music I listen to when I write can vary from Reguetton to Tom Waits or Argentine tango, depending on the story I am working on.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Actually, what influenced me, and made me write the first lines of the paranormal romance which I am yet to finish, was my own dream. I wanted to write it down, and it evolved into the whole story. But from the contemporary authors, I would have to say Skye Warren – I love her style of writing, I love the characters, and the stories too.
What are you working on now?
Now I am working on a story I finished more than a year ago. I am actually rewriting it from the third-person POV to the dual first-person POV. I don’t have a blurb for it yet, but it is a forbidden romance, age gap, drug cartel, suspense, sacrifices, separation blues, and second chances.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am still quite new to the marketing part of self-publishing, so my knowledge in this field is still quite limited. Actually, at the moment I am doing my best to read every useful article I can find about promoting the books. This is how I found this place too.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
As a new author myself, I have only one piece of advice. Don’t give up. I knew every single person who bought my debut novel (except for when I put it on a free promotion on Amazon) and I had no money to pay for ads because I used it all for hiring a professional editor.
But seriously, don’t give up! I know, it’s frustrating to try to find your place in the midst of already well-established authors, but as my second book proved – readers will eventually find you. So, keep writing!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
This actually came from the trailer of Margaret Atwood’s Masterclass. She said: “Do it. Do it more. Do it better. Fail. Fail better.” So, I guess this is what I am doing.
What are you reading now?
At the moment, nothing. I just finished some books last weekend and now I am waiting for one of the author’s from my Instagram community debut novel to come out.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Write and publish more books, what else? ๐
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would take Ariana Franklin’s historical romantic suspense series where the main heroine is a female doctor in Medieval England. I already read every book of the series twice, and I could definitely read it again.
So, that would be the maximum allowance. But if we could count it as 1 box, then I would add “Of Love and Other Demons” by Marquez, and “Eleven Minutes” by Coelho.
