Interview With Author Gary Baysinger
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I spent my formative years living on a small island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. We had no television, at the time I thought it was the end of the world, but it forced me to read. That is how I developed a love for books
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is titled A Kind of Homecoming. It was inspired by movie called “Oh What A Lovely War”, a British musical about World War One (seriously). There is a scene in the movie depicting the Christmas truce of 1914, when the British and German troops met in no-man’s land and took the day off from fighting. One of the German soldiers tells the British that he lived in England before the war and left behind an English girl. I was intrigued by this and wrote a story about this German man and this English girl and what happened to them.
