Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is General Williams, I am a sixteen year old comic book writer/illustrator. I have published four comic books so far with a fifth one on the way. I love skateboarding, painting, play video games, and of course read/write comic books.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
It’s called BUCKO:ISSUE#4 and what inspired me to write this book is the old Max Fleischer superman cartoons. especially the villain in this issue, He’s basically an arrogant and narcissistic version of the DC superhero.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t know if this would be strange or not but, I don’t write scripts for my comics I usual just go with the flow if you would call it that. I also just write my comics with pencil and paper. I can’t use technology it has to pencil and paper.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Authors that inspired me are Stan lee, R.L Stein, Jeff Smith, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, Walt Disney, Max Fleischer, Bob Kane, Kevin Smith, and Joe Shuster.
What are you working on now?
I am currently working on BUCKO:ISSUE#5 I am really excited about this one because Bucko’s girlfriend Cindy is not the damsel in distress this time it’s Bucko. That’s all I am saying about Issue 5 I don’t want to spoil to much of it.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I usually just promote it on my Instagram or just tell my friends and family about it. I also use book promoting websites.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Make sure you have good communication skills and you know how to write a good story, oh and don’t ever give up on your dreams, if I can publish four books and sell them then you can do it too.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t let nobody tell you “you can’t”.
What are you reading now?
I’ve been reading some of Judge dread, Uncle Scrooge, Bone, Spider man, Archie, Spawn, some Sonic the hedgehog, and Astro Boy.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to make an 80 paged graphic novel that has that feeling of a cheesy, Slasher movie, like Friday the 13th Jason takes manhattan. At Issue 10 of Bucko I’ll take a small break and work on this 80 paged graphic novel.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would Bring Bone, Judge dread, and Archie vs. Predator because, they are very long books and I really enjoy them.
