Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is George Kramer, and I am an author of eight books. Four of them are in the fantasy genre. Arcadis is a very powerful sorcerer who goes through a few metamorphosis’s until he is nearly omnipotent. Every single person that knows me, and has purchased my books, have told me they see me in the main character, Arcadis.
I am one of nine children, a natural born triplet, and was born in Brooklyn, New York. I was raised on Long Island and moved to Indiana in 1989. I currently reside in McCordsville, Indiana with my wife and daughter.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is book four of my Arcadis series. Arcadis: Emperor of all Emperor of None. The third book of Arcadis: Arcadis: Decimation was the inspiration for my fourth book. I had to see how it turned out for my favorite character! Each of my books are sequential, and I write them that way to purposely put a cliffhanger at the end of each book. You want to know what happens? Buy the next book!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
No, I don’t have any unusual writing habits. I like to listen to instrumental Jazz or classical music when I write. All I know is when my wife and daughter are otherwise occupied, I tend to get a lot of writing done!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, Hexed by Kevin Hearne, Spell Blind & His Father’s Eyes by David E. Coe.
All write in first person and tend to infuse their sense of humor in their books, as well as me!
What are you working on now?
I am working on two projects simultaneously. I am writing the sixth book of Arcadis (the fifth one, Arcadis: Convergence is completed but unedited as this juncture), tentatively called, Arcadis: To Walk Among The Gods. At the end of the fourth Arcadis book, I introduced a new character and am having Arcadis guest star in that series, then it will be a stand alone series still written in the fantasy genre. I have a very brief outline of the story but have commenced writing.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Without a doubt, book signings. To date from January 2015 to October 2015, I have had 14 book signings, with two more before the year is up. I have received numerous emails from people complimenting me on my books, and wanting more of them.! Then comes Facebook, which I synced with twitter. Every time I post on one of them, it automatically gets posted to the other one.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes, NEVER GIVE UP. I don’t care if someone tells you that you won’t make a penny, or your writing isn’t good. If you believe in yourself, and can handle constructive criticism, then nothing should dissuade you from achieving your goals.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I’ve heard was to find your niche in your writing, then find websites, forums, social media, and any other venue to get the word out to your market.
What are you reading now?
Dark Magic & Shadow People by James Swan. Prior to that I finished reading “Time Salvager” by Wesley Chu.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Creating more series, different characters and redo a medical thriller I had written a few years ago. Additionally, I have several short stories I would like to revamp and sell.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Sorry but hands down it would be four books of The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Loved those books!!
