Author Bio:
He is a proud father of six, a devoted husband, and a faithful follower of God. He is also a veteran who served in the Marine Corps and the Army National Guard and a former firefighter, paramedic, and police officer in Houston, Texas. Jason knows what it means to face adversity, trauma, and loss. He struggled with PTSD, alcohol, and prescription drugs after witnessing many tragedies and losses in his career. He found hope, healing, and purpose at Camp Hope (the PTSD Foundation of America), where he embraced Jesus Christ and discovered the light in his darkness. Jason is now a graduate student in clinical mental health counseling with a bachelor’s degree in Christian counseling and biblical studies. He is a certified Christian mental health crisis responder, life coach, and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals (TAAP), and the American Psychiatric Association (APA). Jason writes from his personal and professional experience to inspire, encourage, and equip others to overcome their challenges and live a fulfilling life.
