About Gigia And Me! An Extraordinary Journey
“Cats know how to win our love without ever asking for it.”
This touching truth lies at the heart of GIGIA AND ME! An Extraordinary Journey, the inspiring memoir by Jasmine L. Quan. Much like A Street Cat Named Bob, this book tells a powerful story of redemption, resilience, and the transformative power of the human-animal bond.
Jasmine L. Quan had it all — an exciting career in the world of fashion and luxury, only to trade it for a cause far greater: rewilding the South China tiger. Her groundbreaking work, featured in global media such as BBC, The Los Angeles Times, and Science, put her at the forefront of wildlife conservation. But life took an unexpected turn. When she lost everything — her career, home, and sense of purpose — she hit rock bottom.
Then came Gigia, a small tabby cat with emerald-green eyes and an even bigger spirit. What started as a simple companionship soon became an extraordinary partnership, teaching Jasmine to see life through new eyes. Their adventures across Italy’s stunning landscapes — from the sun-kissed shores of Calabria to the historic streets of Venice — became a journey of healing, rediscovery, and love.
“Gigia didn’t just walk into my life—she saved it. With her quiet charm, she reminded me of the power of trust, laughter, and finding beauty in the smallest moments.” – Jasmine L. Quan
More than just a memoir, GIGIA AND ME! Is a celebration of resilience, unexpected friendships, and the incredible lessons animals can teach us. With humour, heart, and profound insights, the book also includes an easy-to-follow appendix on training cats, making it a must-read for animal lovers and pet trainers alike.

Author Bio:
Jasmine L. Quan received a BA from Beijing University and dual MBA/MA degrees from the Wharton School of Business and the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. With many passions and strong determination, Jasmine has achieved milestones across continents and industries.
She once managed Gucci’s global licensing operations. However, her perspective changed dramatically when her travels exposed the challenges confronting endangered species. Spurred by this, she transitioned from the fast-paced fashion industry to the equally dynamic field of wildlife conservation.
At the forefront of the South China Tiger Project, Jasmine led an ambitious initiative that breathed life into a daring experiment to rewild these critically endangered felines. Over a decade, she oversaw the breeding and training of more than a dozen tigers.
Jasmine’s work garnered extensive worldwide coverage in major media outlets such as The Los Angeles Times, Science, the BBC, and CBS 60 Minutes. Her program has charted a new course for big cat conservation, culminating in the two-hour TV documentary Last Chance Tiger, which showcased her triumphant yet heart-wrenching odyssey, full of obstacles and challenges.
Jasmine has authored two other books: Rewilded: Saving the South China Tiger, a bilingual photo documentary chronicling her quest, and Diary of the South China Tiger , published by China Literature Press. Today, Jasmine serves as an independent advisor across diverse domains while continuing to champion the cause of South China tigers through China Tiger Revival , a charity she co-founded (www.chinatigerrevival.org.uk ). She is currently converting her photodocumentary book Rewilded: Saving the South China Tiger into an audiovisual format to increase awareness for tiger conservation (YouTube Channel: @RewildingTigers ).
Her life and work embody the principles of resilience, adaptability, and regeneration inherent in nature.
