Interview With Author Gleb Tkatchouk
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I'm an aspiring author who has recently published my debut book, 'The Rhino Who Dreamed of Being a Unicorn.' This heartwarming children's book explores themes of self-discovery, embracing uniqueness, and the power of friendship. It's a project that I'm particularly proud of, and I'm excited to share my first published work with readers who appreciate stories that inspire and uplift.
Having spent years nurturing young minds and witnessing the magic of childhood, I've realized the incredible impact that stories can have on a child's growth and development. "The Rhino Who Dreamed of Being a Unicorn" is my heartfelt attempt to contribute to the world of children's literature.
Through the enchanting story of a rhino's dream and my personal experiences as a parent, I aspire to convey essential life lessons of self-acceptance and embracing one's uniqueness. This book is a reflection of my commitment to instilling values of empathy and self-confidence in young hearts, as I believe that fostering these qualities from an early age is crucial.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
It's called "The Rhino Who Dreamed of Being a Unicorn," a children's book that represents a new chapter in my journey. My inspiration for this book comes from my extensive experience working with children and, most importantly, from the boundless love I have for my three-year-old daughter, Eva and her passion to all livings.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I wouldn't say I have any unusual writing habits, but I do have a few routines that help me stay focused and creative. One of my favorite habits is taking long walks in nature to clear my mind and find inspiration. I also enjoy listening to instrumental music while I write, as it helps me create the right atmosphere for my storytelling. Ultimately, I believe that each writer has their unique approach, and it's these little quirks that make the creative process so fascinating
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Several authors and books have had a profound influence on my writing journey. In the realm of children's literature, I've always admired the works of authors like Roald Dahl, whose imaginative storytelling and ability to connect with young readers continue to inspire me.
Moreover, the classic fairy tales of the Grimm Brothers, the whimsical stories of Kornei Chukovski, the profound insights of Leo Tolstoy, and the sociological perspectives of Charles Perrow have all played pivotal roles in shaping my writing style and the themes I explore in my own stories. These authors and their works have collectively influenced my storytelling, blending elements of imagination, morality, and human insight.
Additionally, Dale Carnegie's timeless classic 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' has shaped not only my writing but also my outlook on life. It underscores the significance of meaningful connections and human interactions, which I aim to reflect in my work for both children and adults.
What are you working on now?
Thinking about next ideas about uncertain magical creatures, that live nowadays in our world and how their outfit and behaviour can be a root of lessons for young readers.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I really like kindlepreneur.com, mine of knowledge for me!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Start and get published for feedback as soon as possible
