About Goodbye Woodstock: The Last Reunion by M.H. Sullivan
It is 50 years after Woodstock and the Love & Peace Commune in southwestern Oregon is planning its annual end-of-summer Woodstock Reunion weekend. Former hippie residents of the commune are already arriving in their tie-dye granny dresses and bell-bottom jeans. They’re expecting to enjoy 3 days of peace & music, organized by Ceil’s partner, Sky, who intends to recreate the 1969 Woodstock Festival playlist. With his cancer no longer in remission, this may be Sky’s last reunion and everyone is determined to make it his best.
But Fate and Mother Nature have other plans. Ceil discovers she may lose the commune’s land to her brother Spencer; her daughter Summer, from whom she’s kept some serious secrets, is arriving; and her granddaughter, Kate, unexpectedly shows up with a premonition of a devastating earthquake and tsunami. They need to protect the commune’s thriving organic produce business, evacuate everyone to higher ground, and keep their grove of giant redwoods from Ceil’s brother’s grasp.
In this celebration of ‘the 60s-era idealism and community, will the strength of the commune be enough to overcome the multiple threats to its existence?
Can the towering redwoods help to save them?
