Author Bio:
JEFF GROBERMAN IS A CANADIAN WRITER and producer whose quick wit and insightful observations have entertained legions of readers along with radio and TV audiences over a distinguished-yet-hilarious career.
Jeff’s career launched while he was still a student at Simon Fraser University near Vancouver. CBC Radio picked up a series of topical comedy sketches he’d co-written with classmate Colin Yardley and gave them national airplay. The public response prompted CBC to commission Jeff and Colin to develop a comedy program and Dr. Bundolo’s Pandemonium Medicine Show was the result. It became a coast-to-coast hit that Jeff wrote and produced, running for thirteen years and helping launch the careers of several noted comedians.
A new TV station started by Canadian director, Daryl Duke, lured Jeff from radio and he spent the next five years working at CKVU as a writer, performer, and executive producer. CBC then lured him back to expose a new generation of audiences to a televised version of Dr. Bundolo. After that he produced The Paul Anka Show, which featured crowd-pleasing guest stars such as the Smothers Brothers, Tony Orlando, Andy Williams, Anne Murray, and a young Wayne Gretzky.
Jeff went on to produce shows for CBC, PBS, CTV, FOX, Global and Knowledge Network.
Jeff’s broadcast work has been recognized with an ACTRA (Association of Canadian Television and Radio Artists) Award for Dr. Bundolo, and several CAN PRO (Canadian Television Program Festival) Awards. In 2019 he was inducted into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame.
Jeff and his wife Michele have two adult children and three grandchildren and reside in British Columbia.
