H2LiftShips – Vol 1 – Beyond Luna by Bob Freeman
Beyond Luna Synopsis
Imagine a world, exactly like ours, but different
H2LiftShips: Beyond Luna by Bob Freeman is the first book of his hard-science space opera saga. The story follows Captain Graciela Lourdes and her crew of mutated animals on the LunaCola, a unique H2Liftship launching from Earth using hydrogen, boost rockets, and enormous solar sails. The diverse crew of the LunaCola navigates a world almost parallel to our own, but with distinct differences.
Unlike other modern space operas, there are no Faster-than-Light rockets, transporters, or blasters. The only aliens are the octopuses and science drives the story, no magic is needed where wits, skill, and luck rule the day.
As they soar through the heliosphere, the LunaCola, acting as a flying bodega, brings the joys of commerce to the isolated miners and asteroid colonies before hitting up casinos to gamble their bounty. Their journey is filled with encounters with pirates, anarchists, poker games, and even jail time. The characters are entertaining and unforgettable, making this space adventure truly unique.
After their thrilling escapades through space, the crew returns to Earth for a party in the desert, bringing along Carne Asada burritos and plenty of fun.
