Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am 23 years old. My husband and I got married on October 8th of 2016. We have a beautiful baby girl. I thoroughly enjoy reading older novels.
I have written one play manuscript and one novel. I am currently working on a screenplay and another novel.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Of Hell and Angels. I had been toying around with the idea since I was sixteen. I am a Catholic who believes in God, but I also believe in forgiveness. When I started Of Hell and Angels, it’s purpose was to help others become accepting of different religions. The book developed into a story that expanded into an unhealthy love story between the soul, sin, and the desire to be loved.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I usually read the dialogue out loud in character. I also talk to myself about the outline, and how certain foreshadowing methods can be useful in future books.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
A wide variety of authors has made an impact on my life. I adore Charlotte Bronte, Emily Bronte, Jojo Moyes, Jane Austen, Alexandre Dumas, and E.L James.
What are you working on now?
The second book to my “Of Hell and Angels” series. It will probably be my favorite out of the three. I am also working on a screenplay for “Of Hell and Angels”.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am not sure yet. This website seems very promising.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what your voice cannot dare say aloud. The dark thoughts that are written free a mind filled with insecurities.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Be yourself.”
What are you reading now?
“After you” by Jojo Moyes. I am still not over the first book. I definitely had to give myself a pep talk after I finished it. I don’t cry often, but “Me Before You” didn’t go easy on my emotions.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I have an abundance of ideas for other novels. The problem is getting them on paper. I try to work on one idea at a time, and my goal is to finish my series before I do anything else.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bible, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling, and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare by William Shakespeare.
