About Half-Assed: A cautionary tale of love, life, and real estate gone bad by Francesca Flavia
Getting married, buying a house, having children, adopting dogs and cats: these are major life decisions that everyone faces at some point in their lives. Some people do them better than others, and others do some or all of them badly. HALF-ASSED is about a married couple with shockingly poor judgment when it comes to various life decisions such as which house to buy, where to buy it, and how to renovate it. Along the way they make other decisions, some of which happily turn out better than the real estate-related ones.
It can be fun and even healthy to laugh at the misfortune of others (not really). To that measure, this book is enjoyable. It is also very brief, so it’s not a huge time commitment. There are also valuable lessons to be learned from the errors of others (“there but for the grace of God go I” sort of thing). Those are good, solid reasons to read this book, so why not go ahead and give it a go?

Author Bio:
A little about me: I’ve been writing for three decades or more. Recently, I’ve been focused on fiction, so this memoir is a departure from that inclination; however, I’ve been working on it for twenty years, starting in a grad school workshop. That was when everyone found my semi-tragedy hilarious, and I decided to keep writing the story. For Half-Assed, I use a pseudonym since I do badmouth the town where I currently still reside. All the names have been changed for privacy and dignity reasons.
