About Her Untamed Soul (3 in 1)
This book is about the life journey of a free-spirited and intelligent small-town girl who grows up into an empowered woman through various phases of the epic saga.
The first book is about her intriguing and adventurous childhood & adolescence when she romances with her class friend from her engineering college. Latha has grown up in a class-divided and rigid society. But she defies the love laws that bind her. She has to fight for her right to choose her lover as they passionately love each other. All hell breaks loose as the family spies inform her father. Her family house arrests her and stops her education.
All exit points are blocked. The first book asks if the persecuted girl will find her way to reach out to her lover.
The Book2 is about her insane struggle with society and her criminal father, who is politically powerful. On the one hand, the police are on their trail, and the local goons try to find her hideout. Life becomes unbearably complex and challenging when Latha fights out her life’s battle to protect her love and independence. Her father takes appalling revenge, and the world of Latha burns to ashes.
Book 3 is about Latha’s story of rising from the ashes and fighting out a bigger challenge legally. It is a harsh world of crime and intrigues. The trajectory of Latha’s life completely changes as she learns, gradually, to survive and discover her happiness. She rediscovers love in a much more excellent way. Would she find joy and redemption from her existential crisis as a woman?

Author Bio:
Since my girlhood in the ’80s, I have been a caged bird. But I was born with the urge to sing my songs of freedom. Yet, I cherish my childhood amidst woods and trees in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, Bihar then. I grew fond of nature and felt the penchant for expressing myself in my diary, which I could not share with my friends. My journal became my true friend to who I told about my agonies and ecstasies as a girl child.
During those days, we had no cell phone or internet. So, reading books in English, Hindi, Bengali, and even Sanskrit kept me alive and fulfilled. I read in my orchard in all seasons, feeling the color and smell around me.
Later, I contributed to school and college magazines. Yet, early domesticity and marriage stole my dreams of becoming a media person.
I completed my Education against the tide of non-cooperation and became an English teacher at the senior secondary level. It is from IGNOU, where I taught for nine years. There I got the chance to learn how to enrich myself while teaching English to the management students. I contributed my articles to the small magazines until the American Magazine Ezine started publishing my work in 2013.
I wrote about my solo travel experience to the Kashmir valley and Thailand, where I learned about the international teaching style. I got my certificate of excellence from there. After that, I wrote articles, snapshots of memoirs, and short stories of a different flavor.
I learned to self-edit my work to make it more modern in style and presentation. The Ezine team honored me with an Expert Author certificate in 2016. Till 2017, I had contributed many of my memorable writings here.
In 2018, a very personal tragedy hit my life. I left my job and started my tutorial home. In 2019, I completed my creative writing course at the British Council, Kolkata. They awarded me with an A+ certificate.
In 2020, Covid hit the life around me. My personal life suffered like the world around me. The life of ordinary men and women was never like before. It was a new reality we were waking up to, which transformed our perception of reality.
I turned to write for catharsis. I created the trilogy “Even Caged Birds Sing.” I poured into my writing to release the suffocation of existence that seemed to kill my spirits. The book received terrific reviews from India, Uk, and the USA. I was happy that a common Indian woman could reach out her voice to the world beyond.
This taste of appreciation inspired me to write about “An Untamed Soul.” It is about an epic journey of an educated and enlightened woman from an Indian small-town. Though a timeless love story, it is also about crime, violence, revenge, apartheid. The story is a romance book about the battle between Love and Hatred, Humanity & Empathy versus Criminal Conspiracy and Atrocity.
My Empowered young lady rises from the blood and Ashes like a phoenix. Love wins, and Hate proves to be self-destructive.
I want to write more about the many facets of India, portraying the beauty and the beast. I wish I could be a genuine Indian Author in English. I want to write about real issues with love ๐
