About Hologram
In a world of illusions, reality is rebellion.
The Voturans who captured 18-year-old Aaron’s family can make anything they want with the click of a button.
But the things they make aren’t real. They’re convincing mirages, mere holograms.
And Aaron is the only person in the world who can tell the difference between a hologram and the real thing.
With only this unique ability and a desperate determination to rescue his missing family, Aaron is adrift in a barren world after the Voturan attack.
But Aaron’s gift of sight makes him valuable to the Voturans, especially the ambitious General Druxa. Druxa hunts Aaron down and enlists him as an officer in his army, submerging him in the luxurious world of the Voturan upper classes and demanding that he help Druxa see through the holographic deceptions of Votura’s enemies.
Amidst the glittering holographic illusions that fill the Voturan capital, Aaron lives a double life. He’s consoled only by his growing friendship with Druxa’s daughter, Antonia, and the slaves assigned to him. To stay alive, he conceals his anger and desire for vengeance, feigning loyalty to Votura and aiding them in their endless wars—even against his own people of Taurus.
His success brings him ever greater power and influence among the Voturans, while in secret he searches for his lost family so he can rescue them from a fate worse than death. But power corrupts, and if Aaron can’t control his flaming anger and phantasmic desire for revenge, the people he loves most will pay the price.
Beautiful and deadly illusions flicker through the skies, insurgents plot under a fiery moon, and the drums of the Temple are beating for the Offering. Will Aaron save his loved ones and himself…and will it cost him his humanity?
“A beautiful and captivating read. . . A tale that slowly and expertly builds up to a fantastic and satisfying end, Hologram by Walker Larson is a welcome treat for science fiction and fantasy enthusiasts.” –The Feathered Quill
“Larson blends a detailed dystopian world with a classic rags-to-riches hero, liberally sprinkles in action scenes, and offers an exciting story built on a modern ethical challenge. . .This book was practically written for fans of Brown’s Red Rising and Scott Card’s Ender’s Game!”

Author Bio:
I am a writer of literary thrillers and YA sci-fi/fantasy books. I love stories that are both exciting and philosophical, moving and thought-provoking, tales that tap into the universal human experience–while delivering a thrilling ride along the way. As a reader, I yearn for the kind of book that is un-put-downable, and then, at the end, when you finally do put it down, you just sit there for a long time, quietly, and filled with wonder.
I've been writing ever since I first scribbled a knock-off of The Lord of the Rings at the age of eight called The Jewll (I couldn't spell very well). It was about a "hobbit-like creature" who had to destroy a magical jewel to prevent the world being consumed in fire.
I went to college for writing and then got an MA in English literature and language. When not penning novels, I write articles about literature, culture, and education. I live in beautiful Wisconsin with my wife and baby daughter. Thanks for visiting, and I hope my books can take you on a journey worth experiencing.
