Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a mom (one people child, two furries), and wife. I’ve been an entrepreneur since the Earth cooled. I am a full-time author. I’ve written and self-published 20 books, and I’m Hal Elrod’s business partner in The Miracle Morning book series (together we’ve published 9 books). I write, read, meditate, and workout every day.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
You Must Write a Book: Boost Your Brand, Get More Business, and Become the Go-To Expert. I’ve been helping professionals write and publish their books, and I wanted to make my experience and knowledge available to many people.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think so. Unusual? Is being fueled by caffeine unusual (I hardly think so)!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Soooo many: Tony Robbins, Catherine Ponder, Zig Ziglar, and Jim Rohn, to name a few.
What are you working on now?
The companion guide to You Must Write a Book, I Must Write a Book. I’m certifying an author coach, and we’re putting together a course on writing a book for professionals.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Having targeted email lists and a community on Facebook (the Prosperity for Writers Mastermind, inspired by my book, Prosperity for Writers).
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write and keeping writing. Publish and keep publishing. You’ll get better and better, the more you work at it. If making money is your goal, you’ll make a little money, then a little more, and then a lot more (but it will take time, energy, and focus). It’s worth it!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
You must write a book! Mark Victor Hansen’s words to me when we met in 2004.
What are you reading now?
Concrete Blonde by Michael Connelly
The Science of Enlightenment: How Meditation Work by Shinzen Young
What’s next for you as a writer?
More books! Helping more aspiring authors! And, I’m going to try fiction…
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Law of Success by Napoleon Hill
The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity by Catherine Ponder
and I would smuggle in my iPad as “one book” so I could have all of my books. Shhh!!
