Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
The official bio follows. It is a good summation of me. Although, I still want to be Wonder Woman with the bracelets. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be able to kick Superman’s ass? The only other superheros I’ve considered becoming are Rogue, Jean Grey and the Scarlet Witch. Anyhoo, I am a talker so let me just say, before I digress yet again, that I’ve written a total of nine published stories, numerous newsletters in former jobs and hopefully encourage many young women to pursue their dreams in the writing and acting field.
International Best Selling Author Hope Daniels grew up in a small resort area in Michigan where she and her husband still live today. As the third child of four, she had an exhaustive imagination. From straddling the back-porch railing as a wild cowgirl, to saving the world as Wonder Woman complete with homemade bullet stopping bracelets. She was always taking what she read and making it as real as she could, now if she could just find the wolf shifter of her dreams…
Love of reading began at an early age, due to a first-grade teacher living next door, and her own father reading bible stories to her before bed each night. It was cemented in elementary when she discovered scholastic books, specifically Marguerite Henry’s Misty of Chincoteague. Her love of horses and reading has never diminished, even after her husband took her to Chincoteague Island for their honeymoon.
Daniels loves to write in multiple genre which includes her short in the International Best Selling Anthology All You Need Is Love produce by Encompass Ink titled Always and Forever, the Amazon Bestselling Anthology Black Magic (A Women of Urban Fantasy Production), a Contemporary and YA short in the LDL Ink Anthologies. She is also the co-author to the Magical Forces series books Hell In Heels, Hell On The Heart, Hell Of A Family Yule and Hell of A Night with Author Alicia Dawn. Hell Is The Tie That Binds releases October 5, 2018.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Hell Is The Tie That Binds is the newest release with Alicia Dawn. It was inspired by the characters themselves. They said they needed this novella to reconnect and rediscover why they loved each other so fiercely in the first place.
I’m also working on an unnamed MM Romance. This is a follow up to Troy and Marshall’s story in the Anthology All You Need Is Love. I felt drawn to give the two a full novel. I felt they have more to their story. More of a journey. Both suffer PTSD and Troy has issues we haven’t yet explored.
Next year a Reverse Harem sequel to An Awakening from Black Magic will be released. I’m moving slowly with this one. Each chapter is being beta read by the LDL Ink writing group. I’m getting great feedback. This is going to be a great story.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to have either music or the TV on in the background. If it’s the TV, then it must be on something I am not going to stop writing to watch. I’ve had it on Paw Patrol while writing sex scenes before. I do not recommend it, though they turned out super hawt! Usually it’s the Property Brothers (hello, Jonathon can be one of my characters), or Say Yes To The Dress. I love both programs, but during the day it’s usually reruns. If Doctor Who or any Hallmark Channel movie, I’m done. Can’t write. I’ll watch the TV instead.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Oh wow, this is actually a very difficult question because there have been so many and I don’t want to forget someone. I would have to say one of the first was Marguerite Henry. Sea Star was one of my favorite books growing up. Janet Dailey’s Calder saga, though tame by today’s standards, kept a young teen hot under the collar. Anne McCaffery’s world building style still makes me want to wake up on Pern and be chosen to ride a Queen dragon.
What are you working on now?
Hell of A Life, the final book to the Magical Forces Series as well as the unnamed MM story of Troy and Marshall.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Why, awesomegang.com of course!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Read, learn and listen.
Read what you can about the business. Learn from your mistakes, as well as others. Listen to other authors. Don’t be afraid to ask for advice or their help.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
What I just shared above. Not to be afraid to ask for help and advice.
What are you reading now?
An ARC of Lauren Blakely’s, Once Upon A Sure Thing.
What’s next for you as a writer?
While working on the novels, hopefully to work on more novellas for anthologies. I love writing these short stories. I didn’t think I would. Typically, like when I get started talking, I tend to ramble. Somehow, I’ve been able focus for these stories and enjoy writing them.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Now you are killing me! I literally own thousands of paperbacks. For real. I have my own library! Can I make it 3 or 4 book series? (laughs) That would be easier to narrow down. This is like asking Frodo to give the one ring to a jeweler. One would have to be Kate Douglas, Larissa Ione, Melissa Foster and Lauren Blakely. I think I’ve covered my paranormal and my contemporary genres.
