Interview With Author Hope Redgrave
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi, I’m Hope Redgrave! A 23 year old Indie author juggling through engineering and building a fantasy world of my own. I’ve published two books currently and am illogically proud of myself for finishing them on time.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Name of my latest book is Fractured Hearts. It’s a childhood friends to lovers story. But the only difference being that, it doesn’t exactly end the way anyone expected. I always wanted to write something highly emotional and touchy. Something that’d feel irrational but still hit the spot. This book was that.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m practically nocturnal. So one of my unusual writing habits is writing until early morning, watching movies or anime while doing so.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
One author that heavily inspired me into going for Fantasy was Jennifer L Armentrout. Specifically her Lux series and Titan series. Another author who more or less shoved me into the dark romance was Rina Kent. Her God Of Fury book still makes me cry. Lastly the author that inspired me to make the Male Lead criminally unhinged was H.D. Carlton.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on the 2nd Book from Destiny Series, a sequel to Obsession. Desire. The plot is fire and the characters are hot.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Best methods of promoting my books is instagram. I can connect with the readers there and get a feel for what they want from these books.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
The only advice I’ll give new authors is that, do what feels right. Write what feels right. It may not be a popular trope, it might not have any smut, it might not even hit the readers the way you want it. But it’ll be worth it when you’d see that book in your shelf. Enjoy the process. Live through it.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
One of my teachers told me that if a book makes you laugh or smile or blush or angry or cry or even throw the book at any wall, it’s a good book.
What are you reading now?
I’m currently reading this one Dramoine Fanfiction Manacled, written by ShenLinYu.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I honestly haven’t envisioned much about the future. I’d say…I’ll finish writing the books I’m working on, imagine new worlds, new characters. Maybe write more books. I’d like to keep my writing alive for a long time. At least for myself.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Alchemised by ShenLinYu. God Of Fury by Rina Kent. Fractured Hearts by I, me and myself. Lastly, it’ll probably be Volume 03 of Guardian by Priest.
