About Imperiled: A Science Fiction Adventure by Alexander Hans Schmitt with Vonnie Gene Schmitt
In the far future, an unforeseen event shatters the life of Junior Commander Anaiya Sonra and ends her career as the emergency coordinator of a habitat-based patrol force. Realizing that her existence is in jeopardy, Anaiya commandeers an AI-enabled starship, battles her way to the nearest rift transit fold zone, and continues her heroine’s journey. As her voyage progresses, she builds a team from an unlikely group of castaways. Together they investigate the source of Anaiya’s undoing: the unprovoked attack and destruction of an ancient freight hauler and the mystery of the cargo that it carried. But none of them understand the reach of the situation in which they have become enmeshed. For in another part of the galaxy, long held plans are in motion.

Author Bio:
Alexander Hans Schmitt was an avid reader of speculative fiction in all its variety throughout his life. After earning degrees in philosophy and law, he decided that he was better suited for the life of a writer rather than that of an environmental lawyer. Alex worked steadily on Imperiled for eight years until the onset of epilepsy and the side effects of antiseizure medication stalled his writing and his efforts to publish. He died a sudden death following a seizure. He was 42 years old. Alex’s mother, Vonnie Gene Schmitt, edited Imperiled after his death and self-published it.
