About In The Hungry Essence
In The Hungry Essence is a deeply contemplative poetry collection that navigates the inner landscapes of human emotion, identity, and longing. Through lyrical verse and reflective prose poems, Pushpen Ray explores the invisible yet powerful forces that shape our lives—love, sorrow, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of meaning.
Each poem in this volume is a meditation on the soul’s yearning—for connection, for understanding, for peace. With a voice that is both personal and philosophical, Ray delves into questions of human suffering, the illusion of worldly attachments, and the quiet strength born from spiritual endurance.
From poems like “The Silent Traveler” and “Immortal Strength” to “The Mad Mystic” and “In the Courtyard of My Heart,” this collection weaves a rich tapestry of poetic thought rooted in human experience. It reflects a worldview shaped by deep introspection, cultural richness, and a compassionate understanding of life’s contradictions.
Published by Blue Crystal Literary Magazine, In The Hungry Essence is Pushpen Ray’s 10th solo work and 8th poetry collection—a milestone in a literary journey defined by emotional clarity and poetic grace. It is a book that will speak to the seeker in every reader, leaving a lingering resonance long after the final page is turned.
