Author Bio:
Dr. Alan R. Ek is Professor Emeritus, University of Minnesota College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences in the Department of Forest Resources. He served as department head for three decades including service nationally representing funding and organizational interests of Land-grant university programs to federal agencies and Congress. His service also encompassed such issues with universities in Canada, Europe and several developing nations. He has published widely on the dynamics of forest and related natural resources and implications for economic and environmental policy for government and industry.
