Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi! I’m Iris Taylor. I’ve been writing since I was a kid and have been a self-published writer for three years now.
Writing has always been about escapism for me, and putting all those unfulfilled dreams down into words to see where they go…like what things could’ve been like if this had happened or if I had done things differently.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Missing You is the second book of The Miller Brothers Series. It’s a Friends to Lovers Romance and loosely inspired by an old flame. We started out as super close friends and it became something much bigger.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write on my phone mostly. Not sure of that’s very unusual but it’s the only way I can be productive.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Twilight. I don’t know why, but it just has a lasting impression on me.
What are you working on now?
The third book in the series. It’s to do with the third Miller brother, Cade, who works as an emergency physician. He’s also a suave, confident playboy. I know I’m gonna have fun working with him.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
This I have yet to find out.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Continue to write! And ask yourself why you do, because there are starkly different approaches and strategies depending on what you want to achieve.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“If I can do it, so can you.” This is the advice from various authors who have managed to earn a full income from their writing.
What are you reading now?
Nothing yet.
What’s next for you as a writer?
To build my backlist of books. I know that writing gets better with practice so that’s my goal.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Twilight (the entire series)
