About Island Interlude
Island Interlude is set in Hawaii and is the romantic story centering around a successful entrepreneur, Rolf McCarron, and his ambivalent feelings tor a naïve, beautiful young Eurasian girl, Liana Brewster, who is left in charge of her younger brother after the death of her parents. The opening of the story explores the difficulties with which Liana experiences as she attempts to fend for herself and her younger brother in the new and mystifying world of self-reliance. The main theme of the story is the journey of Rolf’s doubts, fears and refusal to communicate his emerging love for Liana and the resulting misery and confusion she feels and experiences because of it. The couple become close emotionally and then back away, torturing each other with the exquisite pain and skill with which Lovers are so often adept.
