It’s a Doc’s Life by Dr. Thomas T Thomas
Thomas leaves the ivory towers of Trivandrum Medical College, his alma mater, to say hello to the real world as a fully-fledged, licensed medical professional in Kerala, India.
Initially, it’s a baptism of blood, sweat, and unrelenting toil as Thomas takes on a year-long rotation internship. But this isn’t just a medical story: It’s a story of life, love, and the pursuit of a dream.
As Thomas secures a job in a struggling private hospital, he faces challenges that extend far beyond the realms of medicine. With his beloved wife, Jessy, by his side, he sets up their new home, the backdrop of their evolving life. The couple navigates the joys and hurdles of building a family while managing their demanding roles as junior doctors.
The story unfolds through a series of chapters, each a window into the trials and triumphs of Thomas’s professional and personal life. It’s a journey through the highs and lows of a medical career, from moments of brilliant success to blunderous misdiagnoses and everything in between. But he reaches wit’s end when confronted with the incessant crying of his own infant at home.
