Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m from the UK and live on the Yorkshire Coast with my partner, Anton. I’ve been writing since I was at school. I had poetry published in the Hull University Journal, “Psychopoetica”, during the 1990’s but then my writing took a bit of a back seat, when I went to Teesside University to study Criminology. After graduating in 1996, I worked in special education for a few years and then moved to London in 1998. I lived there for over a decade, on and off and worked as a singer, in retail, make-up artistry and special education.
During 2011, I relocated back to Yorkshire and started working in retail again and started writing sporadically, mainly short stories and poetry. Then, during the Covid 19 pandemic, I was furloughed from my job and had more time to devote to writing . I finished and published my first novel, “The Vanishing Office” at the end of 2020 and it was published by KDP during February this year. I have finished writing the follow up, “The Ghost Society” and am currently editing the manuscripts for the eBook and paperback editions. I am also currently working on the first draft of the third part of the series, “The Kill Switch.”
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest and first novel is called ” The Vanishing Office”. It’s the story of a very ordinary woman who finds herself working for a shadowy organisation, who store and change, important information about rich and powerful people. I found the whole idea of how information is shared interesting. The whole debate around which information is trustworthy and which isn’t, I find both fascinating and scary, at times.
