Interview With Author Jaime Reid
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am completing my 3rd in the Midnight Magic Series 🙂 The 1st – Lily’s Mountain Adventure is up, the 2nd: – Lily’s Italian Adventure too, and Lily’s English Adventure is being illustrated right now, and I have started Lily’s American Adventure as well! Lily is very inquisitive and Reggie (her possum mate and tour guide!) loves to take her exploring so they have many, many plans for more!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Lily’s American Adventure – Lily has so mich to see in the USA!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I tend to giggle a lot whilst I’m writing! Sometimes coming up with nonsense, and silly names brings me such pleasure! I love that Lily is not limited to some of the practicalities of life – it’s no trouble to tunnel through the Earth and pop up on the other side, and it’s completely acceptable to do time travel back to meet interesting people from history etc!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I absolutely loved reading Hair McClary (Lynley Dodd) and Katie’s book series (James Mayhew) to my children.
What are you working on now?
Ideation for all the places and things Lily and her friends can do!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Still working that out, to be honest!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just do it! Make it happen. It is so rewarding! Bringing Lily to life fills my heart! Seeing people read her adventures to their children with smiles on their faces is simply the best feeling.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Persevere – use the feelings of joy and the satisfaction of creating to drive you over the hurdles.
What are you reading now?
Philippa Gregory – The Lady of The River. I LOVE her books!
What’s next for you as a writer?
More more more….
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
