Interview With Author Jake Hill
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a digital marketer helping businesses with managing their brands in the market. These brands can range from solopreneur launches to globally known brands known for sponsoring events in the sports and entertainment spaces. I’ve penned six books focusing onmarketing, branding, podcasting and e-commerce platforms.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Web Copy for Beginners. Copywriting is a critical skill in today’s age that can help businesses and freelancers market their skills better to serve end consumers. The demand for copywriting has skyrocketed in the past several years as businesses pay more attention to content being shared with potential consumers. What to write and how to write it can significantly impact consumer engagement leading to closing more sales. Readers learn how to leverage their writing skills to bridge the gap between brands and buyers.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I need to have music playing in the background while I work.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Noam Chomsky. His genre of writing differs than mine but I find it refreshing that he remains in lockstep with the changes in the world. He thinks outside the box which is similar to when I’m working with businesses that desire fresh ideas to stir the marketing mix.
What are you working on now?
I’m penning a book anticipated to come out soon. It’s in the last stage of development as my publisher and I discuss the final cut.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m trying out different channels so I don’t want to prematurely speak on what works and what doesn’t. I’m exploring spaces that align with my ideal audience wanting to learn more about skills building.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Everyone has a message to share. Get your message out sooner than later.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Writer’s block doesn’t exist. If you want to write, you’ll write.
What are you reading now?
Vigilance by Andrew K. Diemer.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Connecting with readers through businesses and virtual engagements.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Ulysses by James Joyce
The Long Goodbye by Raymond Chandler
One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez
