Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve written twenty one books, but only seven are published. They span the speculative fiction spectrum from fantasy to sci-fi with horror and everything else mixed in.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Thug #1. I wanted to look at superheroes from a “regular guy” point of view.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m a discovery writer, so sometimes I get nervous at the end of the book about whether I’ll be able to write a satisfying ending. Fortunately, they keep working.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Kurt Vonnegut, Ray Bradbury, John Twelve Hawks
What are you working on now?
A utopian cyberpunk story about a post labor society who use a long-term full-immersion virtual reality test to determine who gets to join them.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Selling in person at stores and conventions.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. It takes many books to get good and build your skill to the point where the work is expert level.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write what you love.
What are you reading now?
Where Nightmares Ride by R. A. Baxter.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m in the middle of a big rewrite for my work in progress. I have high hopes for it.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
How to build a radio out of junk you find on a desert island. How to find food and water on a desert island. How to build a boat to get off a desert island.
