Interview With Author Janae C
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Janae is an author of dark fantasy romance. Janae’s family is from Louisiana and Georgia. She is the middle child of three. She began her writing career as a teenager in high school, writing steamy love scenes for her classmates. She wasn’t convinced as a writer until her English teacher found her stories and told her she should be a writer. She treasured those words for all of her adult life.
She has a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. She is a dedicated mother, friend, and writer. She is usually found hunched over her laptop, dreaming of different ways to entertain. She lives in Georgia with her cat, Persephone, and son. She loves dogs and wants to own a Husky, and loves making people laugh and feel comfortable. She has a podcast called The Scribe Vibe with Janae, and her favorite color is blue. Her favorite authors are Jackie Collins and Anne Rice. Her favorite genre is dark fantasy romance. She is a Cancer.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my latest book is Deconstructing Eden: The Awakening. What inspired it was stories from the bible.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write as soon as I wake up. It’s just me, my imagination, a cup of coffee, and my vape.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I used to read everything Jackie Collins wrote. I now read Yasmine Galnorn and Sarah J. Moss
What are you working on now?
I am working on book two of Deconstructing Eden.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I don’t know how to market myself, so I hired a publicist
Do you have any advice for new authors?
If you dream of writing, then you should do it. There is no excuse nowadays. You don’t need anything other than a dream.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
When I was sixteen, my English teacher found my steamy love scenes and told me I should be a writer.
What are you reading now?
I am rereading Throne of Glass.
What’s next for you as a writer?
To continue to write and hopefully get more readers.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
