Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have been writing for many years, this is my first book, just published in September. Writing poetry came easily, after the first few the words flowed, at times a number were penned in quick succession. They were my way of expressing my thoughts and feelings of loving and being in love. A love that surpassed anything I could imagine I would ever find. To find that degree of love unconditionally returned in equal measure had my fingers fly across the keys often late in the night. My quiet time, and when sleep eluded me and my mind was in overdrive. A feeling of flying in every fibre of my being.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Purple Diamonds 101 Love Poems
Simply a need to write. I had all these amazing memories, thoughts and feelings that filled my heart and my head. Writing soon became like auto writing. Scribbled at times on bits of paper though usually typed at some speed without pause.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I wouldn’t say unusual, maybe rare. I don’t believe many authors write as I do, without needing to think of the next line or a word that rhymes with one I just wrote a minute before. It seemed to be a gift I hadn’t known I had within me, till I began.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
None, I’m an avid reader and have read all my life. My inspiration came from within.
What are you working on now?
I’m having a break for a few months then editing ready to publish my second book early in 2019.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I feel that will be your website. Awesome book Promotion’s.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just start.
If like me you have a collection of paper in a drawer that you still can’t bear to throw away. If you think you still want to publish it, one day. No matter how busy your life is; have one hour a day or one hour a month where you begin a rewrite. You may find that It’s not as difficult and revisiting something shelved like your book can help you decide if you believe others would enjoy reading it. Self publishing options are available.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
To follow your heart.
Some call it intuition or a gut feeling,
What are you reading now?
I have just read Total Eclipse by Liz Rigby, hard to put down. Passed on by a friend that loved it. A great author.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Editing a large folder of verse and short biography like notes in my drawer.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Gee, I couldn’t pick, but they would want to be very thick books.
