Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I live in the Pacific Northwest with my family. Writing is a hobby that at some point turned into a passion. I’ve burned through two keyboards so far, so maybe if I get tired of this, I can go into computer repair! Scavenger Girl is the first of a 5-book series, although like most authors, I have a few works in progress, and a million story-lines floating around in my head.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Scavenger Girl: Season of Atchem is my debut novel. It’s inspiration is complicated, but what I can tell you is that it started with a dream I had one night. I pushed aside all my other interests (including television) and started the story. As such, all five books in the series are complete. The next four seasons are in various stages of revision with the second book, Season of Talium due to release early 2018.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Somewhere along the line I became a nocturnal writer. That or I’m turning into a vampire. I’m not sure which…
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love genre bending books. As such, I tend to find my best reads with indie authors. They write what they love, what they’re passionate about, and what drives them creatively, instead of writing for a particular market.
What are you working on now?
While finishing up the Scavenger Girl Series, I do have a little side project I call ‘The Grem,” started. It’s about a boy who…wait…are you trying to trick me? Sorry, but you’ll have to wait!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am a highly relational person, so I guess Facebook would be my favorite place to hang out.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what you love. Write what you hate. Just write.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Not even God can write a book everyone likes.”
What are you reading now?
A fantastic book called, “Generation Gap,” by Alex McGilvery. It’s another great read by an indie author that makes you think even after you’ve put it down.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Season of Talium, book II of the Scavenger Girl Series will be released in early 2018.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Only 3 or 4? Come on!!! That’s not possible.
