Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Originally from Jamaica, I have been writing short stories and poems as a child. I currently have a B.Ed. in Early Childhood Education. As a child, I have always loved books and enjoyed exploring and experiencing different cultures and places through the eyes and mind of the authors who penned them. Therefore, writing and actually publishing a book is a honor and a great accomplishment for me.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My first published book which is my latest book is the Strength She Found. This book was inspired by my mother’s rough life as a single parent as well as my childhood experiences with abuse and rejection.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really. I write mostly in the afternoon or at night, depending on the ideas that might pop in my mind at that time.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Ernest Hemmingway’s The Old man and the sea; Jack Gantos’ Joey Pigza series; John Steinbeck’s The Pearl; Elkanah Rhule’s Man From Jamaica Hills.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on a children’s book as well as promoting m6 first novel.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. Write everyday. Learn from other authors.

Reading maketh a man.
What are you reading now?
Redemption by Brian Clay; Stripped: a journey from Rejection to Redemption by Mary Stewart-Holmes.
What’s next for you as a writer?
The next thing I want to do is to start working on my next novel.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would take the Bible, The Strength She Found, Joey Pigza series, and a book about how to survive on a deserted island.
