Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I write paranormal and contemporary romances that include humor, lust, love, and four-letter words on the way to a Happily-Ever-After. At this time, I have several short stories written and published in boxed sets and several novellas published on their own–some with publishers, some self published.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Alpha Awakened, Fated Foxes, Book 1
I’m not sure what exactly inspired it, but I wanted to write a damaged, tortured hero. A book where the heroine saves the hero. And that’s exactly what I wrote. Hale, a fox shifter, hates everyone and everything—especially himself. He’s an angry, bitter, mentally unstable drunk who blames himself for his mate’s death. It was both wonderful and painful to write. Love that story.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Hmmm… Well, it’s not a habit, but I always have at least two dogs snuggled up to me while writing. Sometimes more. Oh, and I need the TV on in the background. If the TV is off, it’s too quiet, and I can’t deal with music while writing. Too distracting.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Oh, wow. I love the following authors for their paranormal romance writing: Larissa Ione, Gena Showalter, Laura Wright, JR Ward. There are more, but those are my tops right now.
What are you working on now?
So many things! I rarely work on only one project at a time these days. Let’s see… I’m writing a dark romance, a short story with spanking as a theme, a sequel to a shifter story, and my mind is always spinning with new ideas.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Well, Awesome Gang is great. And there are a few others I use: Excite Spice, Pretty Hot, Facebook, Twitter, The Naughty List… There are a ton.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes. Read a lot and write a lot.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Sit your ass down and write. Seriously. Am I allowed to say that here? 🙂
What are you reading now?
I’ve been doing so much editing, writing, and promoting that I’m not reading anything at this moment. BUT, I have a ton of reading material on my Kindle. I’m anxious to get back to it. Mostly paranormal and contemporary romance and some zombie action here and there.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Movie deal? haha
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
That’s impossible to answer–for me, at least. I seriously wouldn’t be able to pick only 3 or 4. That would be torture.
