Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a Swedish writer of hard boiled science fiction action stories. Over the years I have been an elite soldier, windsurfer, film maker, downhill skier, musician, artist and office slave.
I live in Kungsbacka, Sweden, with mygirlfriend and two children. I’m published by Next Chapter.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Under A Dark Sky
I wanted to once more explore the age old concept of who we really are, set in a sci-fi action context.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Nothing special, I think. With two kids I just try to write whenever I get the chance. Which could be on the bus, during a boring meeting at work or late at night when the family sleeps.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Richard K. Morgan and his Altered Carbon novels have been a big influence, and my own work has been compared (undeservedly if you ask me) to his novels on many occasions.
Gavin G Smith is another big influence, as well as Neal Asher and Alastair Reynolds.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently writing the sequel to Under a Dark Sky, called Under a Winter Sun.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I mostly use my own website to promote my writing.
Twitter and Facebook are great places to reach out to your followers.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just write. Don’t care about marketing or writing things that sell. Write what you want to read, and chances are someone else will want to read it too. Unless you have extremely strange taste, in which case you should probably keep your writing to yourself.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write what you want to read.
What are you reading now?
Age of Assassins by RJ Barker
What’s next for you as a writer?
I aim to complete my new novel sometime this summer. Then it’s on to promote that before going in to write the final installment in the trilogy.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
A survival manual, my unfinished manuscript and a thick book of crosswords.
