Interview With Author Jordan Broody
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Jordan Broody, I am a composer of orchestral music and an author. have written 3 books so far, The Arkonus series. I am inspired by powerful orchestral music and what those harmonies can create when the pen hits the paper. I am a hard-working father and a husband. Family is everything to me and though I create worlds in distant galaxies far away, there is only one that matters. I believe in making something grand and making it impactful. If there is a fight scene or something important happening in a story, how can we take that one step further? “Behind distant shadows, there is light”
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Arkonus – It is a word that has multiple meanings. A great celestial force that inspired me to write a story around it. If inevitable outcomes can or can’t be changed than the desire to try is the adventure we must find out.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to listen to epic trailer music or soundtracks to movies/video games. During the writing process I find having music play in the background can paint the scene of your story. If an epic fight is going on or you have an emotional moment, music can drive creativity.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I like the work of Frank Herbert and George R.R Martin, I believe the world-building in grand stories is highly important and these authors have done an incredible job in doing so.
What are you working on now?
I am working on my third and final novel of the Arkonus series. It has been a long journey writing the music and building this universe out. I want people to view this as an epic movie playing in their heads, a saga of science fiction and fantasy that will have them asking for more.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
The best method or website for me is https://www.arkonus.com/
Do you have any advice for new authors?
The best advice I can give is, “Actually sit down and do the work”. This means anyone could have a great idea and say they wish they could have done something with it but don’t. Wasted talent is a travesty and if you remain disciplined in doing the work you will achieve your goals. You can ALWAYS make time for what you love to do.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Sometimes what you’re trying to hold onto is exactly what you should let go”
What are you reading now?
I am currently reading a book called, “Dune.”
What’s next for you as a writer?
I am thinking about writing whimsical tale, something that is dark yet captivating.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I, Robot, Dune, Game of Thrones, The Bible.
