Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m Joseph, a Freelance Blogger from England. I write about big topics to get a better grip on the crazy and rapidly-getting-crazier world we live in. Things like spirituality, technology, meditation, meaning, psychology โ pretty much everything important.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Your Relationship Is Phubbed: 14 Ways Smartphones Are Ruining Your Relationships, Why It’s Happening & How To Reconnect Without Disconnecting. The book was inspired by the emerging field of Digital Anthropology and the sorry sight of seeing everyone around me lost in their phones.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really, the usual โ I tend not to be able to write unless I get up early.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Alan Watts for making the complex simple, Mark Manson for his natural tone, Stephen King for his relentless ability to deliver.
What are you working on now?
I’m not sure, I have lots of notes and ideas laying around and I’ll see what happens when I put them together.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Probably Amazon itself as it has just an insane amount of visitors every day.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
For whatever I’m writing, my only criteria is that, when I sit back in my chair and take a deep breath, it leaves me with the feeling of being a little less confused and a little more at ease with the world. I suspect it will help new writers to adopt a ‘one criteria’ of their own for which all their writing has to live up to.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
‘A writer is someone who writes’ โ my sister
What are you reading now?
Born To Run by Chris Mcdougall
What’s next for you as a writer?
