Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I began writing professionally at age 19; at that time, I wrote short stories for the local radio station in my home town. I gave up writing to pursue an education and have since earned several degrees, including two Masters and a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University in Boston. In 2010 I revisited my first love, writing for fun and enjoyment, and I’m still at it.
I write high heat, steamy, adult romance novels. The first was, State of Ecstasy, which was soon followed by, Temptation to Sin, Loving Therese, and now, The Odor of Violet. My first paranormal romance, The Man in the Black Top Hat, has been re-released. White Magic Woman is my second paranormal romance. I am in the editing phase of my newest release, A Wonderful Piece if Dark Mahogany, due out this summer, what for it.
I live in Connecticut, where I am very active in the community. I love helping people and am never too busy to help someone in need.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I have two latest releases, the were released together in December 2012. The Odor of Violet and White Magic Woman, a paranormal adult romance. I was inspired to write The Odor of Violet after my life changed and I became disabled in 2003. My life is no longer the same, but very few people know this, because I use my other abilities to the maximum. I refuse to limit myself and try not to use the words, I can’t.
The inspiration for White Magic Woman came from my fascination with the ability for voodoo and magic to co-exist among us, with none being the wiser.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
None that stands out particularly; what I’ve noticed, as I become better at the craft, I get so involved in the character that I take on the persona of whichever character I’m making the good guy or girl.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Several authors and books have influenced me. I love books with steamy passionate that are believable with a happy ending. I do go out on fringe sometimes, and read authors, like Christine Feehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Angela Knight, Karen Marie Moning, and sometimes even, J.R. Ward, but by far my favorite authors are, Lisa Kleypas, Virginia Henley, Cassie Edwards, Stephanie Lauren, Sabrina Jeffries, Karen Hawkins, I could go on and on. I’m an avaricious reader.

I’m working on A Wonderful Piece of Dark Mahogany and Against All Odds. I also just released my fifth children’s book in my Too-Clever series, Too-Clever V: Timothy and The Man In The Moon, under my given name, Julia E. Antoine.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I use all methods to market and promote my books. I announce them on my blogs, FaceBook, Twitter, you name it, and I do it. Marketing and promotion is a full time job, so I’m always promotion my books.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Writing is hard work. It takes perseverance and a bit of luck. When I first started writing, I spent a lot of money on editing and promoting, I’ve learned better, but it was a very costly lesson.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Edit, Edit, Edit, get professional evaluation and slow down.
