Interview With Author K.C. Dixon
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
K.C. Dixon is the dark & steamy alter-ego of urban fantasy writer, Keri Armstrong.
As K.C., I’ve completed two “why choose” academy romances with several more underway. As Keri, I’ve written multiple books in the “The Awakening Series” as well as other standalone urban fantasy and paranormal romance novels.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
As of 9/18/23, the latest book is The Culling. It is the second book in the Ravenswood Academy of Magical Arts series.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I do best with a fireplace – real or otherwise. When it’s too hot to have the real fire going, I use either a fireplace video on the TV, or my handy-dandy desktop fireplace lamp. ๐ It just seems to set the mood.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Too many to name!
What are you working on now?
For K.C., currently working on the final book of the Ravenswood series, a spinoff, and a standalone for the holidays.
For Keri, working on a new series that I’ve held close to my heart for several years, and hope to debut it this winter.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
A mix of methods seems to work best for me – from social media to paid promotions to ads on retail sites.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep going!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Consider a first draft like shoveling sand in a bucket to make a sand castle. You have to pile in some dirt before you can mold it into something beautiful.
What are you reading now?
“Life’s Too Short” by Abby Jimenez
What’s next for you as a writer?
Just trying to stay on top of two pen names, and put out more series that are bouncing around in my brain.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Probably some books on how to survive and escape being on a desert island!
