Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have always loved telling stories. Being a mom has given me a lot of time to practice storytelling. I have self-published one book to date, and have a handful of books in the makings right now. My children are some of my biggest inspirations and fans.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Emotionally Abstract is my latest book. I got the idea for it after my therapist suggested I use art as a method of dealing with my depression and anxiety.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I guess the most unusual habit I have is writing late at night.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have a very eclectic taste in reading. Though J.K. Rowling holds a special place in my heart.
What are you working on now?
I am currently working on a companion book for Emotionally Abstract, titled 52 Weeks of Inspiration, an inspirational cookbook, Little Things Like Mustard Seeds, as well as a juvenile fiction book titled Whispers in the Woods.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Talk to as many people as you can about your book. You never know who might be interested.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
If you have an idea for a book, go for it! It is easy to be scared of rejection or failure, but you cannot let that hold you back. Never give up!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
You may fail if you try but if you don’t try you have already failed.
What are you reading now?
I am currently reading Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco. She is a talented young writer that has a promising future.
What’s next for you as a writer?
As soon as I finish 52 Weeks of Inspiration and Little Things Like Mustard Seeds I plan on focusing on my juvenile fiction series featuring a brother and sister pair and their dog.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Stalking Jake the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco, The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa, Number the Stars by Lois Lowry, and The Blemished by Sarah Dalton
