What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
A Flash of Horror is flash fictions taken from my two collections Heads&Tales and Undressed. After being a guest on a podcast I realized how much horror was in my work. So that’s how A Flash Of Horror was born.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I do it the old fashioned way, pen to paper and then I type it up. I have hundreds of note pads in my cupboards.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
S.E.Hinton, Rowling and Tolkien.
The Outsiders, That’s was Then This Now, Rainbow Fish, Tex, Taming of The Star Runner.
The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, The Hobbit.
Harry Potter series.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on a mafia thriller, Broken Chains.
I’m writing on Watpad and sharing with the public, then every month, a new chapter goes in my newsletter and I’m also narrating each chapter on my YouTube channel.
I wanted to share this writing journey with the public and I’m having a lot of fun with it.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Well, I don’t have the same promotion opportunities as other authors. In fact, all of my marketing is done online. Facebook is the best social media platform for me.
I find cross-promotion in my newsletters bring in more sales than anywhere else.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
No matter how much you think your book is ready if you haven’t hired a professional cover designer, editor or had the book professionally formatted, you’re not giving your book a chance.
You only get one chance. If your book isn’t ready and polished and you start getting bad reviews because of it, your book is stuck with them.
Make the best first impression with your book.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
From my editor and it has been drilled into me.
SHOW DON’T TELL.
What are you reading now?
I’m a huge fan of Watpad, so I’m reading amazing books from there.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I will continue with Broken Chains until the first draft is completed. and I hopefully get some great feedback from my readers on Watpad. Then the book will be professionally edited, new cover and I will self publish the novel. I’m also hoping to finish the adult version of In Times Of Violence.
That’s all I have planned for 2020 for now. As I’m so busy promoting my client’s books, I don’t have much time to write or promote my 13 books. I also have my radio show Author Assist on the Artist First Radio Network and my YouTube show, Behind The Pen.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Lord of The Rings
Hush Hush by Beca Fitzpatrick
Morganville Vampires series.
