Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a scientist-turned-pastor who is passionate about seeing people get healed. This is my first published book, although over the years I’ve written many unpublished articles and manuals for my students.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Biblical Secrets to Heal Your Body & Soul. Discover How Ancient Wisdom & the Newest Research Can Help You Feel Better Fast.
When I was in my mid-forties I had a wasting disease that the doctors could not treat, and I almost died. They diagnosed me with one disease after another and put me on all these prescription drugs. Nothing worked. Within a few short months I weighed under a hundred pounds, my hair fell out in clumps, my flesh hung, and I went into early menopause.
I kept doing my home remedies to treat the symptoms, but dove into the Bible for better answers. That’s when God showed me through the pages in the Bible how to combine the data-supported natural remedies with the ancient wisdom & “technology” in the Bible. One by one, each of my diseases healed, and now in my sixties, I feel better and have more energy and vitality than when I was in my twenties.
This is so good that I want to share it with everyone who needs healing!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to stay at a convent on the other side of the state to do the bulk of my writing. Spotty Internet, a big, beautiful forest to wander in while pondering my next section to write, inspiring company when I take writing breaks by chatting with the nuns.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
John G. Lake and Smith Wigglesworth have left behind a lot of writings and I really get inspired by them. Andrew Murray’s The Power of the Blood of Christ impacted me greatly. And I love reading biographies on the old saints like St. Teresa of Avila and St. Patrick.
What are you working on now?
I’ve started the next book in my series, Christian Biohacking: The Best of Science & the Bible. I haven’t given this book a specific a title yet, but it’s about taking the latest research on which diet and exercise strategies REALLY work (not hype) and combining them with the ancient wisdom from the Bible for faster, lasting results. It’s worked for me so far and I’m ready to share it.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Go to: TheHighPraise.com. There are links to the paperback, Kindle, MP3 guided activations, the free Companion Workbook, and the Christian Biohacking Facebook group where you can keep up on all the latest teachings & prayer activations.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Two keys:
1. If you’re not disciplined enough to get up early and write the first couple hours of most every day, GET AWAY for whatever chunk of days you can, and don’t look at your phone except the hour or two you designate each day. The bulk of my last book was written in one two-week stay at a convent.
2. When you’re stuck, just sit down and say, “I’m only going to write for 20 minutes. If I don’t like it, I’ll just delete it. What’s 20 minutes?” I can almost guarantee that you’ll get inspired and focused and will keep writing when that timer goes off!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
There is no such thing as good writing, only good re-writing.” (attributed to Robert Graves)
What are you reading now?
Quantum Glory: The Science of Heaven Invading Earth by Phil Mason
What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to keep going with this series–I’ve got at least four more. And I love creating materials to really help the reader apply what I teach in the books. Information in the head is potential change. But information applied is transformation.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bible, of course, but in the original Hebrew and Greek. And then as many of the God’s Generals series by Roberts Liardon as I can carry!
